How To Ghost Valentine’s Day ❤️💕

*Ghosting: The act of completely and totally ignoring a person, place or thing as if it does not exist.
I have never been a fan of it. Not in dating life, relationships, not when jobs or interviewers do it; it feels so wrong.
But tomorrow, it's so right. Tomorrow, we ghost Valentine's Day.
Here are the rules:
1. Stay off of the 'gram.
You know what Instagram is? A collection of highlight reels. You've got to remember that what you see is what each person you're following (or the ad) wants you to see. Every post (whether we admit it or not) is selected, curated and likely edited.
2. Do not, under ANY circumstances, participate in coworker sparked, flower-induced coo'ing
Brace yourself: this Wednesday, many-a-coos will be cooed. We have all seen flowers before: it's okay to acknowledge beautiful bouquets should someone receive them, but spare yourself the extended gawking, ooooos and ahhhhhs that are expected from you. If someone tries to engage you, keep your comments short and sweet. Some great responses are "So beautiful!" "Lovely!" or "Neat-o!" Then keep it moving...
3. Do not engage in singleton self-pity
That is a slippery slope, my friend. Don't wallow in all the ridiculous reasons you're "not good enough" for someone else. Or try to solve the mystery of the hour: why you're single. Most of the things you're telling yourself (that you're inadequate or not pretty enough or handsome enough or tall enough or something else enough - spoiler alert: these are all lies. In all actuality, you're enough).
4. Pretend it's February 15th.
Don't worry, you only have to do this/be in denial for 24 hours.
5. Act normal
Stop getting all fidgety and looking suspicious - keep your cool. Don't draw any extra attention to yourself today. If you do, you'll have to answer a ton of questions you don't want to (i.e.: Are you dating anyone? Do you have plans for tonight? What ever happened to **insert crush/former boo/hopeful boo's name** here)
6. Don't eat heart-shaped ANYthing
Chocolate. Tart Candy. Pancakes...just stop it right now. It's a trap!
7. Move On
Don't dwell on what could have/should have/would have been. Contrary to what we've seen in various X-Men movies, there isn't a way to travel back into time [yet]. So guess what you get? The present. And that's exactly what it is: a present. Accept it, be grateful for it and take good care of it.
